Cascade Winds Symphonic Band

2025 Spring Concert

Join us for our final 2024-2025 season concert, Sunday, June 1 at 2:00PM at Summit HS in Bend!

Maestro Michael Gesme has a great lineup of symphonic band music on our program. We have two wonderful marches, Alford’s Army of the Nile (so British, you’ll be “gasping for a cuppa”!), and Broadbent’s Centaur March. Boysen’s beautiful Song for My Children will fill your heart. Shaffer’s Costa Del Sol will have you wanting to flamenco in the aisles! Anyone who has read Kenneth Grahame’s Wind in the Willows will appreciate the characters, grandeur, and humor in de Meij’s work of the same name. And not to be missed, Leshnoff’s Symphony for Winds is a profound work originally commissioned for The United States Marine Band in honor of its 225th Anniversary.

Join us at 2:00PM in the auditorium at Summit High School in Bend. As always, our performances are free and open to the public. Donations are gratefully accepted at the performance or here on our website.

2025 Meet & Greet for Students

Do you have a child or student interested in music, learning about band instruments, and seeing what it’s like to participate in a music ensemble? Come to Wille Hall April 17th and have them “sit inside” the Cascade Winds band!  Admission is free.

Check-in begins at 6:00 and festivities begin at 6:30pm. Students are invited to speak with the musicians and ask questions prior to rehearsal.

The rehearsal begins promptly at 7pm. There are seats available within the band so students may get up close and personal with the Winds musicians. There are 50 seats – first come first serve. Your child or student will Experience the Winds.

You must preregister. Arrive in time to check in and get your golden ticket. To preregister, send an email to info@cascadewinds.org, with “Tickets” in the subject line. Please include the student’s name and instrument preference.

Check out our 2019 Meet & Greet for an idea what your child or student will experience.  We hope to see you there!

About the Cascade Winds

Directed by Michael Gesme, the Cascade Winds perform a wide variety of repertoire that often spans several centuries and represents diverse musical styles.

The members of the band feel that it is important that music is accessible to all, therefore our performances are free and open to all listeners. However, we still have production costs associated with our concerts. As a result we rely on individual and corporate donations as well as fees from the musicians themselves to support our operations. We are a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization and all donations go towards our direct operating expenses. No funding goes toward administration of the band which is fully supported by volunteers from within the group and the Central Oregon community.

Your generosity is greatly appreciated and your support will help further the presence of music in Central Oregon. You can learn about support the band on our donation page.
