<description><![CDATA[<p><strong><u>The Central Oregon Mastersingers</u></strong> will present a program of sacred music on October 21--22,&nbsp; 7:30 PM,   First Presbyterian Church, Bend. The 40-voice choir directed by Clyde   Thompson, will feature two sacred choral masterworks: "Chichester   Psalms" by Leonard Bernstein, and "Lux Aeterna" by Morten Lauridsen. Other   sacred classics by such composers as Vaughan-Williams, Tschesnokoff,   Biebl and Moses Hogan will round out this program. <p><strong><u>Proteus Chamber Players</u></strong> Fall Concert on Saturday Oct 22nd at 3 p.m. &nbsp;It will take place at   Nativity Lutheran Church in Bend, located at the corner of Knott and   Brosterhaus Roads. Featuring members of the Central Oregon Symphony and   Cascade Winds, music includes: &nbsp;Ibert's sparkling Woodwind <em>Quintet</em> (with a twist), Calvert's<em> Suite From The Monteregian Hills</em> for Brass Quintet, and <em>A Thousand Words</em>,   a Trio for Clarinet, Viola, and Trombone, get us going in many   directions of place, energy, and mood. Many of you who heard that work   at our first MIPP concert and asked for a second performance! <title>Two Benefits Concerts for Japan Earthquake Victims</title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>Two benefit concerts will be held at Mountain View High School to 
raise relief money for the victims of Japan's earthquake and tsunami. 
&nbsp;The first, on Thursday, 4/14/11 will be a jazz night. &nbsp;Featured will be
 local Bend dixieland band, Summit Express, a regular group performing 
around town, most recently on the first Friday every month at Bourbon 
St. restaurant. &nbsp;Joining them will be the jazz ensembles from Mountain 
View High School, Sky View Middle School and Pilot Butte Middle School. 
&nbsp;Admission is free and donations will be accepted. &nbsp;Mountain View Band 
has a unique relationship with Kogane High School in Matsudo, Japan 
through an annual band exchange program.</p><p>The
 second concert will be on Saturday, 4/16/11. &nbsp;This will feature Eugene 
trumpeter and studio musician, George Burnette Dillon. &nbsp;Dillon has been a
 part of the the music scenes in Los Angeles and Eugene for over 30 
years both as an educator and musician. &nbsp;He has played on countless 
movie soundtracks. &nbsp;Joining him will be the concert band groups from 
Mountain View High School and Sky View Middle School. &nbsp;Admission is free
 and donations will be accepted.</p><p>Both concerts are at 7:00pm.<br /></p>]]></description>
