Rehearsal Next Thursday (1/31/08)
Posted on 01/27/08
Look at all your music for next week but especially concentrate on the first 3 movements of the Pines, the Horn Concerto and the vocal part of Who Puts...The Trumpet section has "volunteered" to come at 6:30 and set up chairs & stands next week.
Feb. 7: Flutes
Feb. 14: Saxophones
Feb. 21: Trombones
Feb. 28: Tubas, Baritones, Horns
Clarinets & Bassoons will get the first rehearsal of the spring term.
And, remember, as Dan so eloquently put tonight, "it is unprofessional to come to a 7 o'clock rehearsal at 7 o'clock."
You need to be in your seat, tuned up and ready to go at 7:00. [And for those of you who are saying, wait a minute, Jan is late every night, I teach a class until 7:30. Believe me, I would much rather be in band. No more night classes for me next term!]
I am going to make up "name tags" to help Dan learn our names (and for us to learn each other's name). It's a good idea that we will continue. So if you want a different name than what I have for you (I'll be doing just first names) please let me know. They will be on a piece of thick-ish paper, fold and hang on the front of your stand. And, yes, I know that the percussion section will be an exception to this but, then, I bet Dan knows all of your names!!
