Cascade Winds Announces Season
The Cascade Winds Symphonic Band has negotiated with the Tower Theatre for a series of concerts to be performed in the renovated, Art Deco theatre so popular for its acoustics and location. The band consists of nearly 50 instrumentalists from all over Central Oregon. Representation from Terrebonne, Sunriver, Sisters, Redmond and Bend all come together to create marvelous music.
The season will be simply divided into spring, fall and winter. The Monday, June 12th, spring concert will present works by Rimsky-Korsakov, George Gershwin, Harry DeCosta and others. All concerts are free admission to the public and Ms. Yoleen Faerber, spokesperson for the group, hopes that community partnerships will be formed to benefit various causes such as hunger relief. “We are very excited to be able to perform at the Tower”, Ms. Faerber said. “It is the exact place you would expect a community group to be able to show its talents to the best advantage”.
