New Concert Venue, Rehearsal Schedule, and More

Posted on 04/24/06

A Note To The General Public:

We have changed our concert venue for this term. Our experimentation rehearsal at the Tower Theatre was a success, and we've decided to perform our concert this term there. Visit our concert page for more details.

A Note To Band Members:

For those of you who had to miss rehearsal last Thursday, correct your calendar as follows:

Spring Concert: Monday, June 12 at the TOWER THEATRE at 7:30 (arrive at 5:45)

We are going to experiment with only one concert but at this larger and more attractive venue.

The concert will still be FREE so start talking it up now to friends, relatives, co-workers and strangers you meet on the street.

(Note: we will NOT be doing a concert on Sunday afternoon)

We got a rehearsal schedule last night and it's been posted online. Next week we will be working on Roost: mm181-224, 302-end; Rimsky-Korsakov: all; Gershwin: 5 before 22 through 28.

Last night we worked on the Gershwin from 28-end. Make sure you talk to people in your section and get the notes on when we are in 4 and when we are in 2 from 28 to 33. And work on all those &*$@#%&$ flats and sharps!

On the Roost we worked on 89-152. Spend extra time trying to get that rhythm at 143 and 315 for those of us who have that 8th note stuff with 8th rests in between. It's a killer.

Figure on Roost and Gershwin at every rehearsal.
